July 7-9, 2017, the Rashad Jennings Foundation hosted their annual 180 Weekend in Lynchburg, Virginia. The weekend ended with a Family Fun Fest and Health Expo on July 9. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) was honored to host a booth at the event to educate families on asthma.

Rashad Jennings, Dancing with the Stars winner and former NFL running back, hosted the weekend as a way to give back to his community. His goal is to encourage kids to follow their dreams and live a healthy lifestyle.

The Family Fun Fest included food, live music, family activities and games, and a health expo tent. AAFA was there to hand out kid-friendly materials about asthma. These included Ally & Andy’s Asthma and Allergy Activity Book and The #TackleAsthma Playbook, created by AAFA with Jennings. More than 2,000 people attended the event.

As a child, Jennings was overweight and fought asthma with little hopes of playing sports. He worked to overcome these challenges to play professional football. He now works to encourages kids to do the same. AAFA and Jennings have worked together to #TackleAsthma.
