In 1953, three allergists started Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) to raise money for education and research. AAFA is the oldest and largest asthma and allergy patient group in the world. Asthma and allergies affect most people in the U.S. in some way.

AAFA is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with asthma and allergic diseases through education, advocacy and research. Our goal is for those with asthma and allergies to live life without limits. Last year we launched a new online community, new website and new programs. Now, we invite you to review our organization.

AAFA offers many educational programs and tools, such as:

  • Programs for patients of all ages
  • Programs for caregivers and healthcare providers
  • Printed materials and tools
  • Online resources
  • Newsletters and magazines
  • Resources and tools in Spanish
  • Support for patients and caregivers through our online communities, local support groups and local chapters

Our volunteer Medical Scientific Council ensures that our materials are accurate, responsible and trustworthy.

We could not do that without your support.

Will you take a moment and tell the world how AAFA has helped you manage asthma and allergies by sharing your story with GreatNonprofits? GreatNonprofits rates nonprofit organizations like ours. Your review allows us to gain visibility and support, so we can assist other families with asthma and allergies. And we read every comment.

Write your review here by October 31.

"...This illness has brought me down to what is really important, to just wanting to live, to work and to have more meaning to each day. The support I have had from AAFA has made me want to help others. I can't help but appreciate the people who dedicate themselves to this organization. The members have pulled me through some rough times. It helps to focus on others and when I am down I feel them focus on me, it helps. The AAFA online community is a part of my DAILY life. I don't know how I would cope without them..." --gigigibson
