Many of our members in Houston, and the surrounding areas, have been and continue to be affected by Hurricane Harvey. Our hearts go out to them, wishing them safety in the weeks ahead. Hurricane Harvey makes clear the critical requirement to have emergency response in disaster situations address the needs of those on allergen-restricted/special medical diets, as well as those managing asthma throughout this disaster.

For the time being, we will post emergency contact numbers and resources. As the situation in Houston and the surrounding areas stabilizes, we will reach out to local resources for information on donating and obtaining allergy-friendly foods and durable medical equipment. Once we identify local resources, we will share this information as well.

Warm regards,

Lynda Mitchell
Acting CEO for the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America
