Quite often. My husband and I look for parks in NC and VA to walk. This one was along the Tar River in Rocky Mount NC. Love the hike as well as taking pictures in these settings.
Good point, Peach! In years past, during our Easter service, our congregation was encouraged to purchase Easter lilies to honor the memory of a loved one.
To all the Asthma sufferers, remember, if you intend to plant a tree in honour of the Asthma sufferer like Austin, plant a 'female' tree. Why? Because we are planting, male clonal, pollen producing, Asthma causing, native or non-native trees. Your "2018 Walk for Asthma Awareness", is again a great undertaking and to al participants, 'my hat goes of''. Support your AAFA, Asthma awareness. "Together we are stronger".
Kathy, I am training to walk a half marathon on October 1st and I have many of the same concerns. I am doing well with training now, but I am concerned because July and August are my bad months for asthma and allergies. I also have trouble with hot humid weather. I am encouraged by your story and I am excited to follow your journey while I continue with mine!

I just bought several great mufflers/scarves so I can walk outside in cold weather without symptoms of cold weather affecting my lungs. I bought the Octr Mistral Skube, which is sold at ski shops. It is a light nylon tube that has elastic and a cord so it can tightened around the nose. It doesn't fall down like an ordinary scarf.
Thanks for sharing, it's so stressful to watch your child go through this and all so familiar as to how it was for me when young. I'd be fine but never realized how fast an attack could come on. My mom would listen to my breathing and count how many breaths or how fast my chest was going up and down. I was taken off of dairy and wheat, it did make a difference for me to do that. One thing that helps me now is to have a portable nebulizer that can plug into the wall or in the car, so I...
I underwent my second Bronchial Thermoplasty on October 4th, 2018. My recovery from BT 2 was a bit longer than the first procedure because my left side is weaker than my right. I was back to work though after 5 days off and back to my everyday life. I just had my third and final procedure done and being day 1 it has been ROUGH. my ribs feel like they're all cracked, I get winded just sitting up in bed but this is all expected and normal. I just keep telling myself it will all pay off in the...
It's in the original picture post. The link is there at the end of my commentary. I haven't written on it in years but I do walk people through my journey (including details of my first lung collapse as a result of asthma) and how I maintain my asthma now. I'm a bit verbose. :-)
pollen , dust mites and molds everywhere in the house from bathrooms, kitchen, etc creates havoc to the immune systems. On Wed, Mar 14, 2018 at 4:22 PM, Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America < support@aafa.org> wrote:
The main triggers for my 6 year old son and I are pet dander from cats, dogs, rabbits. By living in a dander-free home, his environmental allergies and eczema are much more under control with no medication. I also do a lot to keep the indoor air quality good-- weekly washing of sheets in hot water, mattresses and pillows in zippered cases, hepa air purifier in room. When I was young, I did not take my pet allergies seriously and they developed into a serious problem. So I think it should be...
Great Valentine's Day Tips! 💖💘💓💌 Yes. Be thoughtful and have a healthy holiday! A book of poetry and a cozy blanket that is safe would be great! A nice mug and a box of herb tea. A sweater that is safe to wear. A pair of slippers is always nice and comforting! For folks that are home bound, how about an adult coloring book and some colored pencils? A nice picture frame that has a picture of you and your sweetie in it! Have a Happy Valentine's Day! 😍
I love those ideas, AAFA and Deb! There are so many cool (non-traditional) gift options out there that can be fun to celebrate and dont bother asthma/allergies: video games, board games, DVDs, or books also make great gifts.
