    I just bought several great mufflers/scarves so I can walk outside in cold weather without symptoms of cold weather affecting my lungs. I bought the Octr Mistral Skube, which is sold at ski shops. It is a light nylon tube that has elastic and a cord so it can tightened around the nose. It doesn't fall down like an ordinary scarf.

I have been unable to travel by air for the last 4 years due to airline polices regarding service animals and emotional support pets. We must be considered and or rights protected as well.     I have to say that I am very disappointed by the response by AAFA.. It is not enough to simple be "distanced" from an animal on the plane, In addition to the danger of being subjected to animal hair and dander on seats and carpets, these dangers are also circulated through the aircraft ventilation system, thus making distancing ineffective. We are not just in danger from the current flight we are boarding but the multiple, previous flights that have accommodated animals.Planes are being...

    Hi Dawn, I am sorry you were disappointed in our response. We are continuing to work with the DOT as part of a disability working group and agree that all passengers have a right to safe travel. It is incredibly challenging to accommodate multiple disabilities on an aircraft, but we feel that this rule will significantly reduce the fraudulent use of emotional support animals. I was just reading about a study done by USC in which the air pollution declined 20 percent over a 20 year period and it corresponded with a 20 percent decline in new cases of children's asthma-- which provides strong circumstantial evidence that reducing air pollution reduces illness.     Hi Kathy! I had an idea 💡. Maybe, during certain blog posts that may be about certain types of food allergies...such as wheat, beef, eggs, dairy or intolerance to gluten, a recipe or two that would be safe for those particular people to make and consume. Such as a homemade soup...not beef noodle, but chicken noodle. Or substituting soy or chicken or beans for beef in chili.     Thanks for sharing, it's so stressful to watch your child go through this and all so familiar as to how it was for me when young. I'd be fine but never realized how fast an attack could come on. My mom would listen to my breathing and count how many breaths or how fast my chest was going up and down. I was taken off of dairy and wheat, it did make a difference for me to do that.     We've been advocating on this issue for a couple of year. It helps us to have patient stories when we talk with policy makers about how pet allergies affect people with asthma when they travel. If you have a story, you can email it to stories@aafa.org .

    I contacted Amtrak through their website with an electronic message option in October 2018. I received no reply when I inquired about how they are accommodating passengers with dog/cat allergies and allergy induced asthma. It appears that the travel industry as a whole is putting profits before public health and safety. Also, I don't understand why the travel industry is not subject to make accommodations for a breathing disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act. I had an allergic...

    I haven't been able to fly since 2011. I contacted the ACLU and they declined to take on the issue of pets being allowed on planes and trains without even the ADA standards in place to protect those of us with dander-sensitive asthma and allergies. It is very unjust how profits are being put before life and death health issues.

We are so happy you are informing people that wearing fragrance or products/clothing that emit fragrance are deadly for many people with asthma.     I suffer from asthma and eczema both my dad had it but now he doesn't i do i try my best to stay away from grilling and smoke and perfumes and foods that i get allergies from like fish and wheat and oranges and more u should never take these easy u should always be a wear of what u eat and sleep and breathe so take care and i am only 14yrs old but take care

    I’ve never thought of improving the air quality at my work because I don’t get the right support for anything so I didn’t bother asking. I don’t have food allergies but I have a lot of environmental allergies and I take Flonase, Zyrtec, Fluticasone, Eye drops, and Benadryl at night just to sleep. I’d probably be a great candidate for Xolair! I also have asthma. It’s been interesting to say the least!

    This is really great. Growing up, my elementary school had mold issues and they continued to grow until my siblings went years later and by then so many people were getting ill that they shut that school down. If they give schools the tools they need to improve indoor air (awareness and money to make the changes happen), so many children and families will be positively affected.

    Sounds great. May I also suggest some investigating and some stricter enforcement procedures on H.U.D.S. smoking ban that is a failure in many cities across this country. Providing a clean teaching invironment is important but many children will return home to often worse indoor air quality where they live. To truly help the health of all children, they need healthy air at home as well as school. ailurimprovementon

While there is a smoking ban in much of the state at casinos, bars and restaurants, there is no ban on smoking in our Lake Charles casinos - and there is no reason for that!     It is very difficult to find holiday rentals in Tuscany that do not have or admit animals. We need to have our own travel website, where holiday homes that AVOID the major triggers for allergies and asthma are listed..... It is not always possible to avoid ALL triggers, but dust, mold, certain flowers, pets and smoke CAN be excluded. Doesn't anyone want to start a "Home Away" or "Airbnb" site that specifically caters to allergic individuals???
