Asthma is a chronic disease that causes your airways to become inflamed (swollen). This makes it hard to breathe. There is no cure for asthma. But you can manage it by avoiding triggers, taking medicine to prevent symptoms, and preparing to treat asthma symptoms if they occur.
Will Asthma Get Me Out of Physical Education Class?
@aafanational:Don't let asthma be an excuse to avoid exercise! #asthmaawareness #asthma #asthmatic #drmitch #mythbusters #fypγ·
People with asthma can exercise. If exercise causes you to have asthma symptoms, you may have exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB). Some people also call it exercise-induced asthma. If you have EIB, you can prevent symptoms by taking quick-relief asthma medicine before exercising, doing a proper warm-up, covering your mouth in cold, dry weather, and watching your breathing before, during, and after exercise. If you suspect you have EIB, talk to a board-certified allergist.
