Does pollen lose its ability to trigger allergies?

Title Image
Question
Does pollen deteriorate or rot? Does pollen lose its ability to be an allergen over time?
Answer

Because it is organic, I would suspect pollen would break down over time. I recommend that you keep windows closed during pollen season. Run the HVAC with filters that can trap pollen and vacuum weekly. A visit with a board-certified allergist can also help. Discuss treatment options so you can live comfortably with allergic rhinitis.
