Is it OK to Share Spacers With Different Family Members?

Title Image
Question
I know it’s best to use MDI (press-and-breathe) inhalers with a spacer. One of my kids lost their spacer from his emergency pack. I put their one from home in their emergency pack. Can they just share one between the two of them at home? Or how do I get a new one?
Answer

The best recommendation here is to not share spacer devices among different people. The spacer device should remain with the patient it was prescribed for. Do not share them with others. If your children need an MDI inhaler and a spacer device is not immediately available, use the MDI as directed without a spacer. Clean the spacer device once a week. If you need a new spacer device, you should talk to your healthcare provider who can prescribe a new one.

Yes that's true as Dr.james suggested that no to share spacers, and after covid pandemic it's always better to use single...At the same if ur using a zerostat spacer make it sure while cleaning procedure never use rubbing action as it can decrease the static force and the medicine will start sticking from inside surface.....and patient may not get the required amt of doses...Thankyou!
