What’s the Best Way to Pack an Inhaler When Traveling by Plane?

Title Image
Question
I’m flying with an inhaler for the first time. What’s the best way to pack it? Should I put it in my checked bag, so I don’t have to worry about it at security?
Answer

Your asthma inhalers should not be packed in your checked bags. You should always keep your asthma inhalers and other asthma medications with you in an appropriate container or bag so you will have access to these medications if needed for asthma symptoms while traveling. It is best to have a label on the medication or an original box with a label to show to the TSA staff if needed. This will document the medications belong to you (name, date of birth, doctor’s name) and how to use them.
