Blog Post CommentI have asthma. This morning I went to a friend’s home and they had their essential oils diffuser on. I don’t know which essential oil they were using, but within 5 minutes of breathing it my lungs felt like they were on fire and I couldn’t breath. Once I got outside I started to improve. I had to use albuterol because I was still struggling to breathe. I’ve always heard positive things about essential oils, but after doing a little research today, I’ve decided not to diffuse them in my home.

Blog Post CommentI agree masks just do not work to stop dander allergy. Mine is skin as well-- I break out in hives, eyes itching, and those reactions cause eosinophils (inflammatory blood cells produced in response to allergen exposure) which cause my entire allergic disease to flare up and causes vasculitis (blood vessel inflammation) and can damage organs (eosinophils surrounded my heart and caused a heart attack at age 28). Blog Post CommentThis is also affecting the Midwestern states. Our air quality alerts keep going off daily! It's frustrating for me limiting my time trying to get my yard work done. My lung capacity has since decreased decreased over the last few months between the pollen and fire pollution causing me to be put on immunotherapy with Dupixent. I really detest putting more chemicals into my body!

Most inhalers are considered hazardous waste, so they cannot be disposed of in a medical waste disposal box, pharmaceutical disposal box, or a sharps container. This can make it tricky when finding the right place to dispose of expired or used inhalers.
