Blog Post Comment❤️While I know that I am in the tiny percentage of the population who has a strong negative reaction to the Methacholine Challenge test, I want to offer one caveat. About six years ago, I had chronic cough and my doctor thought I might have asthma so he had me take the Methacholine Challenge test. Taking the test turned my, as yet unknown, asthma into moderate-to-severe persistent asthma. Hope no one else has this experience but it is something to consider.

Database Record CommentI've had things I knew I was allergic come up negative on blood tests but positive on skin prick tests and obviously positive when exposed to the allergen. From what I understand there is a difference in allergic responses that isn't always picked up on blood tests, and also that sometimes an allergen has more allergenic components in it than what is looked for on a specific ige blood test but that do often pick up on the skin prick test. Database Record Comment@Shea is absolutely right -- a reaction can indeed occur immediately or 2 - 6 hours (sometimes more) later . Seeing a board-certified allergist is definitely a way to get a more accurate assessment of what your allergies truly are.

I work with a parent who's child was sent to two different labs for blood work for allergy for lobster or shellfish after taking the prick/puncture skin test. Mom was very concern about having to go too two different labs for results. How can I help educate her with information that will make her feel better or understand the method used for results.

Database Record Commenti started not feeling well and we couldnt figure out why, long story short we found my GF has mold in the walls of her house, it ruined my clothes and alot of things as I am hypersensitive - she has since sold the house and we have tried to move into another place but she had brought a few things after she agreed to get rid of everything , that is what the doc had said was the only solution .. i have ruined several cpaps and spent several thousand dollars on new cpaps .. she came to stay...
