Interesting. I have read lots of places that essential oils can be used to reduce mold and dust mites and open airways. I use eucalyptus and tea tree aLOT... I hope I am not causing my asthma problems... I KNOW a lot of candles trigger my asthma, and cleaning chemicals like bleach and chlorine, that is why I look to alternatives with essential oils that I thought were not as harsh but could keep the air free from molds, mites, and other irritants. I do not think I have had problems with...
Thank you Jen!! I am allergic to a variety of tress and grasses that grow in Arkansas. They are year around trees. Pollen, mold and dust peak high for me. My main issues is voiding a flare of Asthma attack. Strong smells, or any above, smoke etc can cause be to have an attack. Not allergic to pet dander.. Yea! I do have a hypo-allergic puppy! Maltice Yorkie Mix.. , Humidity is hard, flowers blooming difficult. We owed a large poultry operation for years. I was out doors all the time.
I hate my dependence on drugs too, though I've found that foods seem to affect my sinus allergy symptoms the most (even more than my allergens -- dog, cat, mites, cockroaches, mold, junipers). I do not have food allergies. Have you found that diet changes your need for drugs? I am pretty stable on just 2 daily OTC meds, down from 5 total, including 3 prescriptions, by better monitoring and controlling my diet.
it's hard to win a legal case w/ severe mold infestations when civil court judges do not believe in toxic black mold causing human diseases. a nyc hpd housing court judge - JEAN T. SCHNEIDER threw out my foreclosure hearing WITHOUT EVEN HEARING STATEMENT FROM MY DEFENCE LAWYER - NOT onr SINGLE SENTENCE FROM MY LAWYER LAST WEEK.! all she wants are to close cases rapidly with no word from the defence ! scary-victims have no rights against her favorite big time landlords. @Jen We are really good about using our exhaust fans in the kitchen and bathroom. Also, we purchased a dehumidifier this summer, which has really helped keep our humidity down. Without it the house sits around 60-70% humidity in the fall and spring. We also redid our kitchen in the beginning of the year and discovered a lot of mold behind sink and under dishwasher. Next are the bathrooms! (We live in a old house)
This is really great. Growing up, my elementary school had mold issues and they continued to grow until my siblings went years later and by then so many people were getting ill that they shut that school down. If they give schools the tools they need to improve indoor air (awareness and money to make the changes happen), so many children and families will be positively affected.
It is very difficult to find holiday rentals in Tuscany that do not have or admit animals. We need to have our own travel website, where holiday homes that AVOID the major triggers for allergies and asthma are listed..... It is not always possible to avoid ALL triggers, but dust, mold, certain flowers, pets and smoke CAN be excluded. Doesn't anyone want to start a "Home Away" or "Airbnb" site that specifically caters to allergic individuals???
What is the best room air purifier for removing mold and dust from indoor air. I suffer from asthma and am looking to purchase for the upcoming winter months. Mold and dust are my primary allergies. Also how can you determine if there is mold in your home? I have a bedroom where windows were replaced several years ago and has a musty smell.
Hi, Linda- I’ve had my first Fasenra injection in June and am hopeful, even more so since I’ve now also been diagnosed with eosinophilic emphysema (mild/moderate, so far, but showed up fairly quickly on my latest CT - the Fasenra may stop the eos from causing further damage). I assume you have eosinophilia and your doctor’s determined that is your primary cause for your asthma? I have Hyper Eosinophilic Syndrome (atypical) and the eosinophilic asthma is relatively recent for me. I have such...
Shea - we do something similar with our live tree each year. We bring it home (this year it was curbside delivery!) and set it up on the deck outside in the tree stand. Then we give it a good shake (I stay in the house for this) and hose it down. We let it dry overnight before bringing it into the house. I'm not allergic to pine so it's more pollens and mold that might be clinging to the branches/needles. This seems to be sufficient for me. For artificial trees, off season storage is going...
I mean, now that I'm not pregnant anymore, if you had me sit in an office with a mask and don't require me to talk much or anything, yeah, I can wear it just about forever, which has been a huge relief (I was averaging about 4 minutes while pregnant). But as soon as you introduce asthma triggers (mold, humidity, irritants and activity in my case)--which I note this study does not mention--yeah, no, it drops fast. But that's okay. The next time I get dizzy enough in the grocery store because...
You need to start with the low income children's homes. How do you research mold growing on drywall and burst pipes in low incomes children's actual home? Mold is first a low income problem. The pipes and buildings are getting old. Not considering investigating mold is giving the poor a death sentence!
I keep finding conflicting recommendations from places online about whether or not those with asthma or other breathing issues should wear a face covering. Normally, my asthma is mostly just set off by mold or the heat (or both, because mold is a real **** when it gets hot and humid outside), but since becoming pregnant, it's just been all around bad and hard to breathe in general. I try to minimize the amount I use my inhaler, but all of the disinfectants in use haven't been helping any,...
