Teens With Asthma Almost Twice As Likely to Smoke

A study presented at the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) Annual Scientific Meeting found adolescents with asthma were twice as likely to smoke as kids without asthma. And they continue to smoke well into their teen years, even though they know smoking is particularly bad for their lungs.

After reading Teens With Asthma Almost Twice As Likely to Smoke I felt awful to know that as a teen I tried a cigarette and was deathly asthmatic! Why? To belong, to conform. Thank God I choked and almost coughed up a lung! I think it is so important to teach young ones how to stand up to peer pressure.
