I have suffered with asthma for 40 years now. I have used Ventolin for at least 35 years. I am no longer able to get ventolin as I am told by the pharmacy it is on "back order" I have tried proair and a generic ventolin called apotex. NEITHER of these work for me. At 50.00 a pop ( that is with insurance) it is very expensive to try these new inhalers only to find they don't work as well as Ventolin. GSK..... Please bring back Ventolin !!!!! This is not like it is an elective drug...... I...
Have you tried calling around to different pharmacies? Because of the recall it probably put the stock on back order. The same thing happened to my daughter's medication and I had to sit and call every pharmacy til I found one that happened to have some in stock. Good luck.
I'm severely allergic to peanuts and cannot use proair. Pro air is manufacture it on the line that has peanut contamination. Whereas ventilon isn't. I am on social security and I cannot afford that price. However maybe it's the part D drug plan you have. If you were to change up you might be able to get it covered. Or your doctor should be getting samples .my doc provides me with samples .
Unfortunately, there is no incentive for properly conducted trials of salt therapy ... or any other non-conventional therapy ... for asthma. There is too much money at stake for big pharma! Being a breathing disorder, if you can't breathe, then you are in big trouble and the drug companies know that! When an Advair Diskus or similar sells for $400, something is very wrong! With my health insurance, I have access to regular medications, but with all the potential side effects of those...
thank you for this notification!! I have this drug from this manufacturer just got back from my pharmacy and I don't have the lot being recalled!! What a relief!
I contacted my insurance company, Tufts, very happy that finally there is a generic Advair cost includes a $400 deductible per year then each discus is about $150. Not surprisingly, they told me that the generic isn't available on my plan. Ya. And if I wanted to, I could ask for an exception so that it's avaiable on my plan. Then, if it's approved it's TIER FIVE. The brand name Advair is tier four. So Tufts would charge me even more for the generic, IF they approved it for my plan. I've...
Sadaya, thanks for letting us know this information. You were smart to check with your insurance company and see if and how they would cover the generic version. Are you eligible for any of the programs on AAFA's patient assistance page ?
Also, could you check with your doctor and let your doctor know that, due to cost, you are not able to take your medications as directed? Your doctor may be able to help you figure out alternative medications. AAFA has a great blog post series on complementary medicine. The first blog post in the series is called: AAFA Explains: What Is the Difference Between Alternative and Complementary Medicine?
Wonderful surprise, scientist finally created a cost efficient. Generic version of my, medicine. Since Advair arrived on the, shelves my doctor has prescribed it. Since girlhood, I had to take several inhalers, pulmonary machine plus allergy medicines. So grateful about this update!
Mylan has released more information on their new FDA-approved generic version of ADVAIR DISKUS®, the Wixela™ Inhub™. Read the press release for more details.
Hi, I've had allergies since age three and asthma since age 14, after a severe case of bronchitis. The animal dander reactions became increasingly severe to the point of being life-threatening by age 15. I also have food sensitivities and a food and drug allergy, but it is the dander allergy that poses the greatest threat, as our society is so hostile towards anyone who points out that people need to come before dogs.
Hey Everyone... I was contacted and asked if I would agree to an interview about having difficulty paying for my asthma med, and lo and behold... Here's the Bloomberg story: https://www.bloomberg.com/news...-drug-that-won-t-die Hopefully, this article will help raise awareness for folks like us, who struggle, not only to simply breathe, but also when we reach the pharmacy counter and are forced to pay outrageous prices for our medicine.
What I dont like about it is that it made me feel less important to people than their pets and that for many years I also treated myself that way and put myself around animals that made me suffer so badly until I had a heart attack due to allergic eosinophils surrounding my heart and choking it, then I took it seriously but still others dont and I struggle to stay strong and remember what happened to me so that that never happens to me again and its difficult because friends get dogs and I...
will it have a counter? there is an issue with having hundreds of students with asthma in our school system and no counter in the back of the rescue inhaler.....do we guess if there is enough medication left? the inhalers go back and forth with the students in the high school so you don't know how many times they are being used, they can be out of medication or close to running out and we won't know until there is a problem.....with the younger ones, the parent usually brings in the inhaler...
Georgianna, the full prescribing information leaflet that GSK linked to in the press release above says this: However, I will note that this looks like they have linked to the brand name Ventolin HFA prescribing leaflet. Since they say that the medication is the same and has the same instructions for use as the Ventolin HFA, I'm assuming that it will be the same with a counter.
