Thank you, and also thank you to the other individual that reminded me of Borax too; it sounds familiar. I definitely agree with using as little soap as possible too; plus it saves money when we don't add a washer pod to our washing machines when it doesn't do much of anything anyway! Yes. I am glad to hear that essential oils are used by some members and, as I learn more, I will be glad to post about this with links etc. within the awareness that I am sure everything I read about their use...

I've been going to pulmonologists, ENTs ,Allergists , holistic options , over and over again for 3o years. Asthma just got worse. Chronic cough. Even went to Cleveland Clinic Cough Clinic. Cough would never stop. Tried all drugs prescribed. Did test for gerd twice. DiD Everything and was compliant. Been going to salt suite near me for past 3 weeks- hour and half day and I HEAR the silence of not coughing ALL the time and lungs feel not as tight. No other changes so I'm sticking to it.

Hi @Dawn Graziano , There will be a public comment meeting sometime this fall (date has not been announced). We are preparing for our submission. We will be sharing a survey with our members soon - the information we collect will be shared with DOT. Additionally, we are meeting with the airline industry directly as well. We will keep everyone updated!

Hello to my fellow advocates and sufferers. Let's keep this conversation going. I have been unable to travel by air for the last 4 years due to airline polices regarding service animals and emotional support pets. We must be considered and or rights protected as well. Let's keep the conversation going and hear from more of you that have been affected. Let On Tue, Oct 8, 2019 at 3:26 PM Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America < support@aafa.org> wrote:

Wonderfu! Thank you for advocating for those of us with a & a. I see more emotional support animals and this makes me nervous, especially with regard to planes and similar enclosed, public spaces. I am highly allergic to cats, to the point that my lungs begin to close up after about 2 hours of exposure. I am seeing these animals now in so many places, with no regard for the many people who are allergic to them. There needs to be some safeguard for those of us whose health is threatened...

Ult1Mat3x, based on the link you had, I would suggest talking to your doctor and beginning your search with the Aeromax 300 . It's the only one on your list that is asthma & allergy friendly® CERTIFIED. The asthma & allergy friendly® Certification program helps people make informed purchases for a healthier home. The program tests household products against strict standards. If products pass certain tests, they earn the CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly® mark.

I think it is ridiculous and insolent that our rescue inhalers were changed from cold-blast to HFAs over a decade ago to "prevent CFCs" from entering the atmosphere. Now, our rescue inhalers are being potentially attacked again, while the most obvious and gargantuan polluters, the military and the agricultural and oil industries, are allowed to continue their practices on a global scale. The diminutive puffs from inhalers, most of which end up inside of our lungs, represent but a tiny...

Update: 5 months out from my final procedure. I have had two upper respiratory infections and one right now as I’m typing this. I have been able to stay out of the hospital and only had to bump up to 20mg steroids instead of 80mg. I normally would’ve been admitted to the hospital until this passes. I’m still having bumps in the road but I would say I’m doing amazing! My first Michigan winter NOT going to the hospital!!!

I am 9 months out from my final BT! I have been OFF the prednisone since May 3rd and NO asthma spells. I have had several colds and upper respiratory infections and normally I would’ve been hospitalized due to flare ups but none! I just ran my first 5k this past weekend!! I have never been healthy enough to do so in my 24yr of life & it was the coolest and best feeling in the world! I’m also down 30lb from no steroids!

Hey there! Firstly, I have to mention that your article has been very insightful and helped me discover everything about pollution allergy . It has been rampant especially in our locality as a couple of new factories have come up recently. Lately, my husband has been showing symptoms caused due to air pollution. His continuous sneezing, nasal congestion, and itchy and red eyes have been my concern for pretty long. As you mentioned, I guess we will have to see an allergist at the earliest so...

Interesting. I have read lots of places that essential oils can be used to reduce mold and dust mites and open airways. I use eucalyptus and tea tree aLOT... I hope I am not causing my asthma problems... I KNOW a lot of candles trigger my asthma, and cleaning chemicals like bleach and chlorine, that is why I look to alternatives with essential oils that I thought were not as harsh but could keep the air free from molds, mites, and other irritants. I do not think I have had problems with...

Shea, I think this would be a great discussion to have with your doctor. It's tricky sometimes figuring out exactly what is triggering our asthma, but by keeping a detailed journal, we can uncover patterns of what makes our asthma worse and what makes it better.

Patients were heard! The Graham-Cassidy bill is defeated. Pre-existing conditions, lifetime caps and other protections for patients are protected. Thank you to all of our advocates for sharing your stories and taking action. We hope the next step to improving our health care system puts patients’ needs front and center and that our leadership listens and fixes the items that are still barriers to care.

this has not proven to be true in our home. We had a dog since before my daughter (asthmatic) was born, and when she was tested for many types of airborne allergies, dogs were the ONLY thing that came back red flagged! Shows the research changes all the time in what they tell you. Be careful telling people this info! Could do more harm than good!

I totally understand your thoughts ... we've lived with pets since before DD came home, and she has allergies and eczema and asthma. I think it's important for parents to talk to their allergists and get the recommendations for their individual situation. Research, however, can show us the big picture and possibly lead to more understanding.
