Good afternoon, Than you for information you just shared. I work with a parent who's child was sent to two different labs for blood work for allergy for lobster or shellfish after taking the prick/puncture skin test. Mom was very concern about having to go too two different labs for results. How can I help educate her with information that will make her feel better or understand the method used for results.
Welcome, @Natalie Wiggins and thank you for the question. So that we can discuss it in more detail with more people, I'm going to copy your comment into a new topic in the Skin Conditions Support forum: Help Explaining about Different Types of Allergy Skin Tests Let's do a deeper dive there.
So if my children and I suffer from Ezcema,Uticaria,Dermatitis and my children have done allergy test on forearm and upper arm area, can they still be tested with Atopy Patch?
SMJ - I would not recommend you to move, because whatever you are allergic to could be in the area you want to move. Have you had your home tested to see what you are breathing. I had the same issue and I too removed every chemical from the home but it kept getting worse. When I finally got my home tested, I had mold in the walls and in HVAC that was circulating all over the house, dust mites in the beddings and furniture and also the VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from furniture, even...
I tried everything for my allergies and asthma flareups - like got rid of pets, changed hardwood all through, changed all cleaning and other products to chemical free / organic. the only thing that's left is moving out of this home and it has been under radar for the past 4 years, but not sure where to - or just moving out of this home might even help
Hi smj - can you explain what you mean about being dependent on an air purifier? Indoor air quality is impacted by many things inside our homes as well as the outdoor air quality. Indoor air can be 2-5 times more polluted than outdoor air especially if you don't have good ventilation throughout your home. When choosing an air purifier , it's important to understand the numbers to make sure you get a unit that is right for the size of the room. AAFA has an asthma & allergy friendly®...
Thank you Mink Naro. What kind of home test are you suggesting and also would you kindly post what purifier you are using, we did try dyson and one another - micro something, but forget, but just got scared of getting dependent on that, I am guessing my home could certainly have mold, but how do i get it tested, once we got HVAC tested and they scared us so much, installed something centrally, which we are not even sure if it is working, he did not leave any box, receipt nothing, this was...
I've taken it every morning for years and have had no problems. Word of caution: don't forget that you took it in the morning and then take it at night. I know someone who did this and it made them very sick (not me).
Hi tkdgirlms- You bring up a great point! Putting a daily reminder in my calendar or phone had been helpful for me to keep track of when I take medication. Do you have other tips for remembering when to take different medicines?
When I developed allergies from my dog, I went for a hunt to find ways to eliminate the dander. I invested in a purifier that is active not passive that eliminated the triggers from the air and and a water purifier that splits water alkaline/acidic. I use acidic water to bathe my dog. He will not drink any other kind of water other than alkaline water. He's the healthiest he has ever been, no doggy odor, he doesn't snore any more, we're both happy campers.
Hi Mink- Strong perfumes and fragrances, especially those with toxic chemicals can trigger an asthma episode. I try to avoid wearing them or being around them. I run into this issue a lot during the holidays. There are such fun scents everywhere, but I am mindful of my exposure.
Perfumes used to be made of natural oils from real flowers. Today they are made in a lab with alcohol and artificial chemicals made to imitate flowers. They are deadly to inhale and put on skin and absorbed through the skin
